How Do I Show My Photos on an Echo Show?
What this helps with: Turning an Echo Show into a photo frame that shows your own family photos, and letting family add photos from far away.
How it works
The Echo Show shows photos from Amazon Photos, Amazon’s photo storage. You put photos in Amazon Photos, then tell the Echo Show which ones to show.
- Amazon Prime members get unlimited photo storage.
- Everyone else gets 5 GB free (thousands of photos).
Step 1: Put photos in Amazon Photos
- On your phone, download the free Amazon Photos app.
- Sign in with the same Amazon account your Echo Show uses. This is the step people miss most.
- Allow the app to see your photos.
- Pick photos to upload, or turn on Auto-Save to upload new photos automatically.
Step 2: Choose photos on the Echo Show
The easy way: say “Alexa, set up my photo display.”
Or use the screen:
- Swipe down from the top of the screen and tap Settings. (Or say “Alexa, go to Settings.”)
- Tap Display & Appearance. (On some models, it’s Clock & Photo Display.)
- Tap Photo Display.
- Pick Amazon Photos, then choose an album, or This Day or Daily Memories.
Now your photos will rotate on the home screen.
Let family add photos from far away
- In the Amazon Photos app, make a shared album. (Check the app’s Albums area.)
- Invite family members to the album. They can add photos from their own phones.
- On the Echo Show, pick that album in Photo Display (Step 2).
New photos from family show up on the screen.
Handy things to say
- “Alexa, show my photos.”
- “Alexa, show photos from last summer.”
- “Alexa, next photo” or “Alexa, pause slideshow.”
- “Alexa, hide this photo.”
If your photos don’t show
- Check the account. The Amazon Photos app and the Echo Show must use the same Amazon account.
- Check the album. Is the right album chosen in Photo Display?
- Kids mode: photo display doesn’t work in Amazon Kids mode.
- Wait a bit. New uploads can take a few minutes to appear.
- Restart: unplug the Echo Show for 30 seconds.
Privacy
Photos on the screen can be seen by anyone in the room. Pick an album you’re happy for visitors to see. To remove a photo, delete it from the album in the Amazon Photos app.
